Job: Credit Risk Manager at Alert Microfinance Bank

Perform risk assessment of all loan applications and recommend approval as appropriate.
Improve and implement a culture of risk management within the Bank.
Liaise with Head of Department to send relevant reports to regulators i.e. CBN and others.
Ensure that the Bank remains compliant with local regulations and internal policy requirements.
Perform a risk profile exercise to determine the Bank’s residual level of risk exposure.
Report all repayments due in the Bank’s risk assets.
Performs a first level review and assessment of all retail inquiries to ensure that all recommendations are made in accordance with the Bank’s risk acceptance criteria for a specific retail lending product
Confirms that all retail credit applications submitted by business offices through the bank’s workflow platforms have all required data completed, and supporting documents are attached for review for informed lending decision making.
Internal credit checks are performed within the bank on any retail credit presented, while providing appropriate interpretation of credit check reports establishing customer creditworthiness.
Perform a detailed collateral analysis, paying particular attention to the acceptability of collateral.


Minimum of B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a credit risk manager in a microfinance bank


Customer relationship management skills.
Ability to work with little or no supervision.
Problem solving, critical reasoning, attention to detail.
Excellent verbal, presentation and writing skills.
