SMBC Hires Mark CToe as Chief Credit Risk Officer


NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–SMBC, a member of the SMBC Group, today announced the appointment of Marc CToe as Managing Director and Director of Credit Risk for the Americas Division.

In this role, Mark is responsible for overseeing all aspects of credit risk management in the Americas region. It relates to Kim Olsonchief risk officer for the Americas, and Yasuhori TakahasiGlobal Head of Credit, based in Tokyo.

Prior to joining SMBC, Mark spent over ten years as Chief Credit Officer and Head of Global Markets Risk for State Street Corporation, where he was responsible for credit and market risk globally and actively undertook a variety of regulatory commitments.

Mark started his career in the UK and has over 20 years experience in the US market. He has held several senior credit risk positions for Deutsche Bank in support of its North American operations.
